The UK Education System Can Feel Complicated, Especially If You Didn't Grow Up In It

You've built a successful career and given your children every opportunity. But when your teenager starts asking about GCSE options, Sixth Form choices, A-Level combinations or university pathways, you may find yourself uncertain about questions you didn't even know to ask.

Which subjects keep future doors open? What's the difference between an apprenticeship and a degree? Not knowing the answers can leave you one step behind at precisely the moment your guidance matters most.

A Quiet Teenager Isn't Always An Agreeing Teenager

When your child was younger, they told you everything. Now they come home, head upstairs, and you piece together their day from fragments.

Sometimes teenagers stop explaining themselves not because everything is fine, but because they've quietly decided their parents won't understand. The goal isn't to force them to talk. It's to become someone they want to talk to, especially when the decisions are big.

ROOTS™: The Parent Transformation

UK Education Guidance

Navigate the UK Education System With Confidence

You don't need to have grown up here to guide your teenager well. You need the right framework, and someone who can translate the system into clear decisions.

GCSE Subject Choices

Which subjects to prioritise, what the EBacc means, and which choices keep future pathways open, before it's too late to change course.

Language & Options Decisions

How languages, arts, humanities and technical subjects affect future options, so choices are informed rather than defaulting to what seems safe.

Sixth Form & A-Levels

Choosing the right Sixth Form, A-Level combinations that match university ambitions, predicted grades and UCAS, and how to support without controlling.

University & Alternative Pathways

Russell Group and other universities, degree apprenticeships, foundation years and gap years: the full landscape, not a one-track expectation.

Career Conversations & Future Planning

How to talk about careers without it becoming a lecture, and introduce ambition without pressure.

About Your Coach

I Understand the Values You're Raising Your Children With, Because I Share Them

I'm Mudita Srivastava. I work specifically with Indian-origin families in the UK. I understand the position many of us find ourselves in: deeply invested in our children's futures, successful in our own careers, and yet navigating an education system we didn't grow up in, while trying to hold on to the family values that matter to us.

I'm not here to tell you how to parent. I'm here to help you become the parent your teenager naturally turns to for the big decisions, the uncertain moments, and the conversations that shape who they become.

Common Questions

Questions Parents Often Ask

Is this programme right for me?

It's designed for Indian-origin parents in the UK with children aged 11 to 18. If you want to understand the UK education system better, improve communication with your teenager, and remain a trusted guide as they make important decisions, this is for you. You don't need to be in crisis. Many parents join because things are going reasonably well and they want to keep it that way.

What if my teenager won't engage or doesn't want to be coached?

The programme is for parents, so you don't need your teenager's buy-in to start. The changes you make in how you communicate, listen and show up shift the dynamic at home. Where it would help, and only if they're willing, I can also speak with your teenager directly.

How is this different from therapy or counselling?

Coaching is forward-focused and practical. We're not exploring past trauma or diagnosing anything. We're building specific skills, knowledge and habits. If a situation needs therapeutic support, I will say so clearly and signpost you appropriately.

Do I need to know anything about the UK education system already?

No. We start from where you are. Whether you're hearing "EBacc" for the first time or already comparing Sixth Forms, the education guidance is tailored to your child's year group and the decisions coming up next.

How does the 12-week programme work practically?

You get 12 private coaching sessions with me, one a week, held online at a time that suits you. Between sessions you have the workbook, guides and scripts to practise with, and WhatsApp support when something comes up.

What if I'm not sure the programme is right for me yet?

That's what the Parent Clarity Call is for. It's a free conversation where you can share what's happening in your family, ask questions, and get a clear sense of whether the programme fits. There's no obligation.

Your teenager is making decisions right now. You can still be the person they turn to.

The window to become your teenager's trusted guide doesn't stay open indefinitely. But it is still open. And the parents who walk through it aren't the ones who knew everything. They're the ones who decided to learn.
